Adds an overhead dimension
A new sensation of height immerses you in the action, creating a full audio atmosphere and realistically depicting objects moving overhead.
Creates a powerfully moving entertainment experience
It all comes together in sound that excites your senses and inspires your emotions to deliver the full impact of entertainment.
How can I enjoy Dolby Atmos?
1) Dolby Atmos compatible soundbar
You can get a Dolby Atmos compatible sound bar, which is designed to be placed or mounted below your television. These devices provide Dolby Atmos through the sound bar’s speakers. Typically, all the speakers, with the exception of a subwoofer, will be contained in a single housing. However, some Dolby Atmos sound bars may contain separate surround speakers.

2) Dolby Atmos enabled speakers
Dolby Atmos is also available in lifestyle systems which can deliver a highly immersive experience with as few as two Dolby Atmos enabled speakers on either side of your television.

3) Dolby Atmos supported components
For a more traditional home theater setup, you can assemble your own system from a wide range of available A/V components, starting with an AVR or preprocessor that supports Dolby Atmos. Many leading AVR manufacturers are introducing products that support Dolby Atmos for the home. Several companies offer complete home-theater-in-a-box solutions that support Dolby Atmos. These systems offer you the benefits of extraordinary Dolby Atmos sound together with the convenience and simplicity of an all-in-one system.

How do I get sound overhead?
A) Get Dolby Atmos enabled speakers
These are modules that either sit on the top of or next to your existing speakers and reflect sound to your ceiling to create the overhead sound experience. This is the same technology used by Dolby Atmos enabled sound bars to deliver the Dolby Atmos experience

B) Install speakers in the ceiling
If you decide to install speakers in the ceiling, you can select any brand of speakers you like. The only recommendation is that you use full range speakers with wide dispersion.

Will Dolby Atmos enabled speakers work in my room?
Dolby Atmos enabled speakers can produce an incredibly accurate Dolby Atmos experience in many kinds of rooms. You’ll get the best sound if your ceiling is flat (not vaulted or angled) and made of an acoustically reflective material, such as standard drywall, plaster, concrete, or wood. While the technology is designed for rooms with ceiling heights of 8 to 9 feet (2.4 m to 2.7 m), testing indicates that you can still hear incredible Dolby Atmos sound in rooms with ceilings as high as 14 feet (4.3 m).
Recessed lighting fixtures, chandeliers, crown molding, and heating or air conditioning vents in your ceiling do not noticeably interfere with the Dolby Atmos experience.
