RS815 is equipped with a dual-core CPU featuring a built-in floating-point unit which enhances the overall capability of the main CPU, enabling higher working efficiency, while 1 GB RAM significantly increases RS815's multi-tasking power. It delivers an average of over 216 MB/sec reading speed, and over 121 MB/sec writing under RAID 5 configuration in a Windows environment.

RS815 comes with dual LAN failover support to ensure continual network service in case of LAN failure, while the hot-swappable design facilitates easy and risk-free hard drive replacement. The hard drive tray lock design further secures your hard drives from unauthorized or accidental withdrawal.

RS815 optimizes your working experiences by enabling faster and more efficient data transfers. To ensure scalability, RS815 provides an eSATA and two USB 3.0 interfaces in the back to speed up data transfer with Synology expansion unit and external hard drives.
